Entire 1 bedroom bungalow just 1/2 mile off the NC500 and 4 miles from Bettyhill with wifi.

Very comfortable and clean self catering accommodation with views of the hill and small loch. Short drive to shop, bar / restaurant and beach.

Well equipped kitchen including washing machine and tumble drier.

Plenty of hot water for showers.

Electric woodburner keeps you warm as well as several electric heaters if required.

Great location as a base to explore by car, motorbike, bicycle or foot.

House Rules

GUESTS - The host must be notified in advance of the number of guest staying. No more than 4 guest in total. Additional guests will be charged.

PETS - The host must be notified in advance of any pets.
No pets on any of the furniture. Please clean up any pet mess in the garden using the bags provided.

GARDEN & PARKING - No camping in the garden. No parking motorhomes / camper vans - occupied or not (sorry the ground is boggy and cannot take the weight). No charging electrical vehicles or motorhomes/ camper vans.

BICYCLES - No bicycles inside the property.

The space
BEDS - We provide hotel quality Egyptian cotton bedding and towels for 2 guests in the double bed. Additional bedding and towels will be charged at £5 per bed for the 2 single bunk beds. Please let us know how many beds your group needs.

CHILDREN - This property is not suitable for children who require a bed guard on the top or bottom bunk bed. Please contact us if you do not believe this is an issue for your group.

FOOD & DRINK - We provide tea and coffee making materials including fresh milk and sugar. We do not provide breakfast however we send you the contact details for all the shops and restaurants in the area as soon as your booking is confirmed.

WIFI & MOBILES - WiFi is available in the property but we cannot guarantee that it will work or at what speed! Mobile reception is patchy (depending on your network provider). There is no TV or radio in the property.

ACCESSIBILITY - The property is all on 1 level accept for 3 outdoor steps (please see photos) so might be convenient for guests with limited mobility but not for wheelchairs.

PETS - The property is pet friendly with securely fenced garden and off road parking but please let us know if you are bringing animals so we can do additional cleaning for the next guests..
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property and fenced garden.

Vehicles can be parked either inside the garden fence at the rear of the property or on the grassed area just outside the gate - so unpacking is easy! Please be aware this can become muddy.

Please do not park campervans or motor homes outside the property since the ground is quite boggy and will not take the weight. If you are concerned about your vehicle please contact us in advance and we will make arrangements where you can best park.
Additional notes
This is a very quiet and peaceful property on a remote road with very little traffic.

This is a great property to take a rest from camping or hostels and get a good nights sleep and get your clothes washed and dried.

Well behaved dogs are very welcome - we even provide a treat tin for them!

Dog poop bags are also available so please clean up after your dog in the garden area. Please do not let animals on any of the furniture. We do not charge an additional cleaning fee for pets however we will charge if additional cleaning is required after your stay.

The weather can make the parking / driveway muddy.
Guest interaction
We operate a self check in and check out service and will email / text your unique passcode for the keysafe where the key is stored.

We are happy to arrange to meet guests if they are worried about using the self check in system.

We will also provide a contact number to call if there are any issues.

There is a book of local walks in the property along with an OS map.

Easy access to forest, cliff top and beach walks

4 miles to Bettyhill with its convenience shop / post office / fuel.

3 miles to Farr beach and Strathnaver Musuem & Cafe.

Day trips to Orkney, John o' groats as well Durness are possible.
Getting around
1/2 mile to the NC500 route.

This is a great location for walking and cycling but is harder (but not impossible!) to access without a car of some kind having few scheduled buses.
